Cost-per-function • Historically 25% reduction every year. 1971to 2004 --- approximately 4 orders of magnitude decrease in cost in cost-per-function. Question where does this come from? Smaller Transistor size reduces the Cost-Per-Function! 1.58 x increase in transistors per die ?=? 38% reduction in cost?
