RESOLVING POWER OF TELESCOPE Aim:To determine resolving power of Telescope. Apparatus Required:Telescope with rectangular variable slit, a scale with black lines of equal width which measure in millimeter and meter scale. Formula used:Theoretical value of R.P. of Telescope = a/1.22λ Practical value of R.P. of Telescope =D/d Where  = mean wavelength of light used. a = width of variable slit at the time of resolution of two object. d = distance between two black lines on the scale.
